Be Grateful!!

At least two months back, one fine day when I had to wait for Office cab to commute to Office. Cab reached on time and even after getting the call from my company helpdesk I could not see the cab at my location.  I had to call back to helpdesk again for assistance in spotting my cab . They helped me to track the GPS location of my waiting cab, after gazing around I could actually spot my cab hardly 200 or 300 meters away. I walked a few steps and got into the cab. When driver handed me the login device he apologized for not being on my location and clarified that he was just following the GPS location but I could have informed helpdesk that its not my location.  Was that because I had to walk a few steps ? Not entirely sure however I replied him, "Anna its okay, my company is sending such premium cars this far with such polite drivers who reaches on time, I shouldn't complain for walking a bit". He looked back at me and smiled, but the important thing I noticed about that smile, it was not just a gesture but his eyes also smiled along.

Yes, mostly people always smile but sometimes those are just gestures, however when a person smiles with his or her eyes, the truth is that they smile from their heart and according to me it is one of the most genuine thing to do. I know definitely why he smiled because appreciation is what everyone looks for but sadly that is the hardest thing to get.  Let me just say it again, whatever I said was not even an attempt to be polite but just a plain thought I had which I said loud. Luckily he understood English to reciprocate my remark with a heartfelt smile !! 

These are actually very small things. But that was not even an extra effort nor was it an attempted display of politeness. However, it made someone feel appreciated. So why can't us all be grateful for what we already have and just be happy about it rather than complaining.
